Danish filmmaking is unique and artistically highly recognized in the film industry. Despite the size of Denmark, their directors and actors are some of the best in the world. A mystery of the nordic people to us, so we just decided: Let's look together behind their scenes and experience what their secret is. CHRISTIAN TAFDRUP Christian (1978) is a Danish actor, film director, and screenwriter. As a director, he is best known for his directorial debut Parents (2016) that won the 2017 Robert Award for Best Director, as well as his critically acclaimed psychological thriller horror drama Speak No Evil, which he also did together with Tanja. TANJA GRUNWALD Tanja is one of the top casting directors in Denmark, most known by her projects with Thomas Vinterberg. Tanja loves working with young filmmakers, hence also to support new views and cast unknown actors. Class is held in English language. You may shoot in English or Danish. SCHEDULE SEPT 2 : Arrival day + welcoming get together around 19:00 SEPT 3: Christian + Tanja: Casting session SEPT 4: Christian + Tanja: Casting session +work with Christian SEPT 5: Rehearsals and work with Christian SEPT 6-8: Rehearsals + Shooting scenes with Christian SEPT 9: Departure day (10am shuttle to airport + Palma center) SCENES You will be shooting scenes on a professional level. It will be scenes of different productions: re-written, unrecognizable, adapted to you and your scene partner. The masterclass will be a mix of casting training, film acting teaching, rehearsing and shooting. After the workshop, you'll receive the filmed raw material in the original quality (4K), which you can edit yourself. You may also ask us to edit it for you. ACCOMMODATION We all live and work together in a stunning villa in the countryside close to Porreres with pool and a garden Eden, BBQ house and a large seminar space. The house offers twin rooms (65€ pP/n). We can offer single rooms at the monastery next door (85€/n). FOOD Well enjoy together daily buffets with Ayurveda and mediterranean based, fresh dishes, mostly vegetarian but also with yummy fish and/or meat options. The catering consist of 3 meals per day (value of 50€/person/day) and will be added to your accommodation choice. COSTS: 1300€ class incl. shuttle, film shoot + showreel material + 805€ (twin room) or + 945€ (single room) full board (incl. 3 meals per day)

Application & Policies

APPLICATION Please understand it will take us a few days to confirm your application. We need to check if this event suits your profile, education and experience. Also we try to have a fair balance of languages, cultural backgrounds, gender etc. in our groups, so IF your application would get declined, it would have nothing to do with your value of talent or as a person. It is simply our goal to give all countries, cultures, languages and gender an equal chance. We will get back to you shortly. Thank you for your understanding. WHAT´s NEXT? Once you get accepted, you will be sent a link to do a prepayment / full payment. CANCELLATION POLICY OPTION 1) We have to cancel If the workshop production needs to be cancelled due to “force majeure” / higher acts of nature, it will be postponed to another date. Same teachers (if available, otherwise we will provide teachers of the same "level" and countries), same or similar place, same amount of days. OPTION 2) You have to cancel If YOU need to cancel for any other reason (jobs, grandmothers birthday etc), you will get a voucher of the event minus the application fee (basically we keep the application fee for our administrative work & losses). MONEY BACK? We generally do not have a money back policy but you will receive a voucher for the amount you had paid. The I.AM vouchers you can activate at any time for other workshops (not Casting Circles) so that you don't lose your money. (Casting Circles has its own application process. Once accepted, you may also use the money with a Casting Circle; On the other hand, a voucher gives you not the right to be accepted at a Casting Circle) You can chose any other event (Casting Circles if you are accepted) for it if your application got accepted for it. If you do not get accepted, you will get a full refund. CANCELLING YOUR ACCOMMODATION If the class comes in package with the accommodation, you might lose the accommodation expenses if we cannot find anyone else taking it. We will do our best but cannot guarantee your money back as this is a third party (hotel/finca...) we had to reserved for you. If you have you have booked your accommodation with the hotel directly, their terms and conditions are valid.
